Whose responsibility is it to remove dead deer from the side of the road after they collide with cars?

The government agency that maintains the road is responsible for removing dead animals, according to officials with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. For example, if it's a state highway, the work falls to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
