Where does the $700,000 from the sale of Riverside School go? Who's going to benefit from selling it?
"Proceeds from the sale of property are deposited into the school district's capital outlay budget," said Julie Boyle, communications director for Lawrence public schools. "Capital outlay funds may be used for property acquisition, construction, repair and remodeling of facilities, furnishings and equipment. By law, capital outlay funds may not be used for general fund expenditures like teacher salaries and instructional supplies."
