If the Eagle Bend golf course loses $150,000 a year, how much does the T lose?
City officials have long said they don't expect the T ever to make money or break even -- no public transit system in the country survives without subsidies.
That said, according to tentative 2003 numbers:
¢ The T took in $85,958 in fare box revenue in 2003, and an additional $47,530 in ticket and pass sales, for a total of $133,488 in revenues.
¢ Total expenditures, meanwhile, were, $2.967 million.
¢ Thus, the T spent $2.83 million more than it earned in 2003.
