I was reading your paper, the Scouting news, about Boy Scout Troop 55, and it was talking about advancement and new ranks: fire builder, warriors, braves, foxmen, keeper of the sacred bundle. Are these jokes? Or does this troop not follow specific Boy Scout bylaws?
The ranks are part of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say organization, according to David Berkowitz, Pelathe District communications chairman. Mic-O-Say is an honorary camping society for Scouts and adult leaders. Boys advance to the various positions. Keeper of the sacred bundle is an adult position. The Tribe of Mic-O-Say is recognized as an appropriate organization by the Boy Scouts of America. It is similar to the Order of the Arrow, which is a nationwide honorary camping society. Troop 55 does follow Boy Scout rules.
