I was just walking by Deerfield Park and I noticed that there was some skateboard equipment there. I was wondering when that was put in and if there are other parks besides Centennial and Deerfield that have skateboard equipment.
Skateboard ramps were installed at Deerfield Park just last spring, said Lawrence Parks and Maintenance Supt. Mark Hecker. So far only Deerfield and Centennial have skateboard ramps, although there is interest in putting in more elsewhere if there is funding, Hecker said.
The ramps at Deerfield are portable, and can be taken out and moved someplace else, if necessary, Hecker said. The ramps at Centennial are permanently installed.
