How long does the flu shot last? If someone got the flu shot now, would he be protected in February or March or later?

A flu shot received in October will last through the spring, according to officials with the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department.

Flu season generally starts in October and peaks in December, January and February. After someone gets a flu shot, it takes about two weeks to become effective.
