I have a question about the Kansas no-call list. I know that nonprofit organizations and places you have done business with before can call you anyway. But, if I answer the phone and ask them to not call me back, is that something I can do to avoid being called or can they still call?

You can tell them to take off your name and they are supposed to stop calling you, according to Chad Bettes, a spokesman for Atty. Gen. Phill Kline.

He said charities and other telemarketers have to remove the names of people from their call-up lists if those people request that they not be called again.
