Which Lawrence schools are considered small schools?

Tom Erb, professor of education at Kansas University, in his guest column Sunday referenced a decision by the Lexington, Ky., school district to reduce the size of its elementary schools.

The minimum elementary enrollment in Lexington was set at 375 students.

Thirteen of Lawrence's 18 elementary schools have enrollments smaller than 375.

Merger of Cordley and Centennial schools, if all current transfer students were retained, would create an enrollment of 360. Merger of East Heights and New York schools would total 269, which is the district's current average. Riverside School, which will close in May, has 110 students.
