What connections, both past and present, does The World Company have with the proposed Wal-Mart property at Sixth Street and Wakarusa Drive?
The World Company, which owns the Journal-World and Sunflower Broadband, has no connection to the property. The company owned part of the property at one time but sold it to 6Wak Land Investments LLC, the developer that has secured rezoning of the property and is seeking approval to build on the site. Before that, The World Company's ownership was under option to other parties who were exploring development.
