I was of the impression that Fred White, for years the announcer of the Kansas City Royals, was replaced. However, I heard him doing a Royals game on the radio recently. Has he been rehired?

White rejoined the Royals organization in 2001 as director of broadcast services and overseer of the team's alumni group after working as a broadcaster from 1974 to 1998. White also fills in from time to time in K.C.'s radio and television booths, primarily for his former radio partner Denny Matthews, who has been doing Royals' games since their inception in 1969.
