Sound Off

I've heard some former presidents and other famous people will be in Lawrence for the Dole Institute dedication events. Who's planning to come?

Former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole and his wife, current Sen. Elizabeth Dole, will attend the events. Former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford also will be in attendance. Other politicians include former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani; former U.S. Sen. and presidential nominee George McGovern; Dole's 1996 vice presidential running mate, Jack Kemp; former U.S. Sen. Nancy Kassebaum-Baker; and the entire Kansas congressional delegation.

Tom Brokaw, anchor and managing editor of "NBC Nightly News," also is expected to attend.
