Has the school board considered moving Lawrence Alternative High School to one of the elementary schools that potentially will be closed? Has the board considered moving the administrative offices to one of the potentially closed elementary schools and selling off the current headquarters property?

Lawrence Supt. Randy Weseman said the idea of relocating LAHS to a closed elementary school was discussed. But none of the schools earmarked for closure -- Riverside, East Heights, Centennial -- were suitable. Weseman said he had in the past proposed moving district headquarters to one of the older junior high schools, but there was never much support for the concept.
