Sound Off

I'm signed up for the no-call list, but I still get calls from telemarketers who say the list doesn't apply to them because they're calling from out of state. Is that true?

No, any business that calls a phone number on the no-call list for the purpose of soliciting a sale or an extension of credit, is in violation of the Kansas No-Call Act.

"It doesn't matter where they're calling from," said Whitney Watson, spokesman for Atty. Gen. Phill Kline.

If you haven't signed up for the Kansas No-Call list, you may do so by calling (866) 362-4160 or going to the Web site www.ksag.org. Registration is free.
