Sound Off
I was wondering why West Junior High School doesn't get out at the same time as the other junior highs on half-days. West gets out at 11:28 a.m. and the other three junior highs get out at 11:25 a.m. They all start at the same time. Why?
Myron Melton, principal at West Junior High, said the caller to Sound Off had some inaccurate information. Normally, the school day at all four of the Lawrence district's junior high schools is 8:08 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. On the short-day schedule Wednesdays, students in junior high start at the normal time but are released at 1:30 p.m.
