Why does the chancellor of Kansas University, a state university, send his children to a private school? Are the Lawrence public schools not good enough?
Actually, none of Chancellor Robert Hemenway's children attends a private school. His 15-year-old son, Arna, attended Central Junior High School last year and will attend Lawrence High School this fall. Arna did attend Bishop Seabury Academy during his seventh- and eighth-grade years, and attended Cordley School before that.
His sons Zachary and Langston both attend KU. His daughter Robin and son Matthew are KU graduates.
