Can you tell me more about Sen. Susan Wagle, the state legislator behind the obscenity amendment in the budget bill?
Wagle is a Wichita business owner who has worked as a teacher and a real estate investor. She graduated from Wichita State University in 1979 with an elementary education degree. She is married and has four children. She was elected to the Senate in 2000 and served in the House before that.
As a Republican senator, she spearheaded the obscenity amendment after an anonymous student complained to her about the content of a human sexuality class at Kansas University. Gov. Kathleen Sebelius has 10 days to sign or veto the measure.
