I swear when I was a kid, there was a cereal called "Grins, Smiles, Giggles and Laughs," but my wife insists age has hurt my memory. Please, prove me correct.
Tell your wife there's nothing wrong with your memory, at least when it comes to cereal. Ralston indeed made a cereal called "Grins & Smiles & Giggles & Laughs" in the mid- to late-1970s. Considered a Cap'n Crunch knockoff, the cereal was shaped like little happy faces. In TV commercials, a group of inventors -- named Grins, Smiles, Giggles and Laughs -- built a cereal machine named Cecil in their lab. However, Cecil only made the cereal when he was laughing, so the inventors spent most of their time trying to make Cecil laugh.
