How many incumbent House members were defeated in the Aug. 6 primaries, and who are they? Also, how many House candidates will take office without having to face an opponent?

Five incumbents were defeated in the House. They are Alan Goering, D-Medicine Lodge; Shari Weber, R-Herington; Karen DiVita-Johnson, R-Overland Park; Cindy Hermes, R-Topeka; and Mary Pilcher Cook, R-Shawnee.

In the 125-member House, 52 candidates had no opposition in the primaries and will face no opposition in the November general election.
