Is it true that fireworks shouldn't be allowed under the city's stormwater ordinance?

City Manager Mike Wildgen said: "Fireworks are not listed in either the stormwater ordinance or the stormwater pollution prevention ordinance."

In the city's stormwater pollution prevention ordinance, he added, "pollution means 'any substance attributable to water pollution, including but not limited to rubbish, garbage, solid waste, litter, debris, yard waste, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, pet waste, animal waste, domestic sewage, industrial waste, sanitary sewage, wastewater, septic tank waste, mechanical fluid, oil, motor oil, used oil, grease, petroleum products, antifreeze, surfactants, solvents, detergents, cleaning agents, paint, heavy metals, toxins, household hazardous waste, hazardous substances, hazardous waste, soil and sediment.'"
