What will happen to the Lawrence Indian Arts Show, now that the Kansas University Museum of Anthropology is going to close?
This year's Indian Arts Show is scheduled to proceed as planned Sept. 14 through Oct. 20 at the museum. After that, the show "will probably undergo some revisions," said Mary Adair, the museum's director.
"At this time, I don't have any specifics for 2003 and beyond," Adair said. "The (KU) administration, however, has expressed a desire to continually fund the art show and has asked for ideas on how this could proceed. They are not opposed to having future juried shows at Spooner.
"Of course, there is more to the show than finding a venue almost all of the museum staff worked on the show in some capacity, so finding alternatives will not be easy," she said.
