Whatever happened to the biology teacher from Southwest Junior High School who had a relationship with his student? Did he go to jail? Was he convicted?

In September 2001, Scott Ellsworth pleaded no contest to a charge of taking indecent liberties with a child for having an affair with a 15-year-old female student. He had already resigned his teaching position in the spring of 2001.

In October 2001, Ellsworth was sentenced to three years' probation. He relinquished his Kansas teaching license. Ellsworth also had to register in Kansas as a sex offender.

The Journal-World carried news articles about the case, including pleading and sentencing.
