Where does the J-W get the weather information that it prints?

The weather page that runs daily on the back of the Lawrence & State section is a syndicated product from the Weather Channel, the cable television all-weather channel that appears on Sunflower Broadband Channel 23. The forecast information is theirs. Almanac information on temperature and precipitation comes from the National Weather Service. Area lake levels information is from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

That presentation is supplemented with Lawrence forecast information from Ross Janssen, 6News meteorologist.

For news stories on the weather, information comes from many sources, most often 6News meteorologists and the National Weather Service in Topeka. News stories also include information gathered from the newspaper's Sky Hawk Network, volunteers who record precipitation and temperature information around northeast Kansas.
