There were two recent deaths in Lawrence; one was a student in the basement of a dental clinic and nitrous oxide was suspected, and another student crashed his car on campus, and his alcohol level was to be reported. What is the update on these stories?
The Kansas University student injured March 15 in the car wreck on campus did not die and was never reported to have died. He spent several days in Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., but has since been released. No one has been charged in the accident. The KU Public Safety Office has turned over information to the Douglas County District Attorney's Office for review.
Lawrence Police are still waiting on the results of all tests conducted in an autopsy of the KU student found dead March 20 in the dental clinic. A Kansas City television station reported a possible connection to nitrous oxide, but neither police nor clinic representatives would comment on that.
