Why didn't Kansas University and the other Final Four universities get TV spots during the games, like they did during some of the regular season broadcasts?

Frank Barthell, electronic media coordinator for KU's university relations, said "institutional spots" that promote universities often showing during halftime of sporting events are negotiated between the league or school and the TV network. In this case, such advertisements weren't in the contract negotiated between the NCAA and CBS, he said.
