What is the building depicted on the new Kansas license plate? It certainly does not look like the state Capitol.

It is the Capitol, according to Sheila Walker, director of vehicles for the Kansas Department of Revenue. Walker disagreed with the questioner, saying she thinks the building depicted on the tag does look like the Capitol. The tag was designed by 3M and chosen by the Kansas Highway Patrol because of its visibility, she said. Other designs considered included depictions of the state seal and sunflowers, Walker said. New tags are issued about every five or six years, she said.
