After reading about the Lawrence school district salary increases, does that include the classified staff, including the secretaries and librarians? If not, why not?
The Lawrence school board unanimously voted to add 4.7 percent to the compensation package for all district employees.
Most of the money 4.1 percent will go into salaries. The rest is for fringe benefits.
Classified staff, including janitors, secretaries and cooks, will get a 4.1 percent across-the-board raise, said Supt. Randy Weseman. The district's administrators and its certified cadre of teachers, counselors and librarians will have 4.1 percent added to their salary pools. Individual raises will vary, Weseman said.
