Why are the events at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds not published? Where could I get a list of the activities there?
Gary Merritt, the county's assistant director of building and grounds, said he does maintain a schedule of events at the new community building, which he also manages. A calendar is posted in the building's hallway at the fairgrounds, 19th and Harper streets.
If anyone has questions about events at the community building, call Merritt at 331-1372.
The fairground's reservation office does not maintain a public schedule of events happening in other buildings.
The Journal-World will start publishing events that are open to the public in the Lawrence Datebook on page 2B.
