Can you define what a scholarship hall is?

According to the Kansas University Department of Student Housing Web site, a scholarship hall is a cooperative student living facility.

Each hall is home to about 50 students, who share cooking and household cleaning responsibilities. The resulting cost savings about $1,200 a year below residence hall rates is considered a scholarship.

The halls also emphasize a strong academic community, and residents are required to complete at least 28 credit hours during the academic year and achieve a minimum 2.5 GPA.
