With the change in the Kansas University football schedule, will there still be the traditional Band Day parade?
Kickoff for the Kansas-Wyoming football game on Sept. 15 was moved from 6 p.m. to 11:30 a.m. for television purposes, prompting KU officials to cancel the morning parade. Some high school bands drive as many as five hours to reach Lawrence, and that would require them to leave in the wee hours of Saturday morning after, in many cases, performing on Friday night. However, there will still be a mass performance by visiting high school bands at halftime of the KU-Wyoming game.
