What was Chancellor Robert Hemenway's beginning salary, and what is the total percentage of raises he has been given since he came to Kansas University?

When he was hired in 1995, Hemenway's salary was $160,000. Under the 2002 budget recently approved by the Board of Regents, his salary will be $219,420.

That's an overall increase of about 37 percent, including the 5.75 percent increase for 2002.

The chancellor's compensation package also includes his campus residence and a leased car provided by the KU Endowment Association.
