Why is the Kansas University Prairie Acre being allowed to be taken over by trees and brush? I thought they were going to restore it.

"The university has begun to implement landscape improvement recommendations from the recently complete Campus Landscape Master Plan," said Douglas Riat, KU's Director of Facilities Operations. "Along with landscape improvements across campus, Prairie Acre will be addressed. Trees and brush will be removed this summer, and additional work will be completed next spring."

Prairie Acre which is actually closer to a half acre was officially established in 1932. It is located on the south side of Blake Hall and the Outlook, the chancellor's residence.
