Who paid for the new pictures and other wall hangings in the treasurer's office and how much were they? Does this come out of the county budget?
County Treasurer Pat Wells said she bought 12 pictures that depict different places on the Kansas University campus for about $1,100 for the office. The money did come out of the county's budget, she said, but if she ever would leave in the future, the pictures would stay there.
Wells said she bought the pictures to make the office a little more cheery and friendly.
"I thought it would add character to the treasurer's office," she said.
