Does the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department ever do any litter pickup in "Dad" Perry Park? I have seen a lot of litter in the woods and surrounding picnic areas, and I picked it up. I would also like to know why there are no longer any trash barrels in the north picnic pavilion.
Tom Wilkerson, assistant director of Law-rence Parks and Recreation, said the department does have a litter pickup schedule for all parks, which is generally tied to the reservation schedules for the shelters during the season.
Regarding the absence of trash cans at the north shelter, he said the department uses this time of the year to repair equipment, such as trash cans and picnic tables.
