Sound Off

Back in the late '80s or early '90s, did the Kansas University men's basketball team ever wear gold uniforms?

They were more yellow than gold. The Jayhawks wore them only once on Dec. 3, 1987, in a game at Western Carolina. KU coach Larry Brown decided the Jayhawks would have three different road uniforms that season blue, red and yellow. However, many KU fans who watched the Western Carolina game on TV complained the Jayhawks looked too much like Missouri, so Brown scrapped the yellow togs.
