Why didn't Kansas University use its Listserv to notify all students, faculty and staff about the scheduled meetings on tuition increases?

Lynn Bretz, interim director of University Relations, said Provost David Shulenburger directed each dean to notify his or her school "as best they saw fit" about the meetings.

"The dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences did send an e-mail to the more than 14,000 students who are majors in the college regarding the three sessions for the college," Bretz said.

In addition, she said, fraternities and sororities distributed schedules to their members, and the information was posted on the university's Web site.
