When is the bridge on East 800 Road that goes over the turnpike going to reopen?
The bridge, on East 800 Road west of Lawrence, has been closed since early February when a transport truck that exceeded height limits passed under it on Interstate 70 and damaged a beam.
Tom Wurdeman, chief engineer for the Kansas Turnpike Authority, said a crew started working on the bridge Monday morning. He estimated that the bridge would reopen today.
