How is Kaw Valley Center doing financially?

According to Wayne Sims, Kaw Valley's president and CEO, the state's regional foster care contractor "finished the year with no debt" and has a balanced budget in place for this year.

"We don't anticipate losing any money this year, and we don't anticipate making any money. That's the nature of being a nonprofit."

The contract's fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30.
