I noticed that the stadium lights were on Tuesday night, and all they were doing was cleaning the stadium. Why are they allowed to run the lights to irritate the neighbors at night when there's no activity in the stadium?

When the lights are on like that, who pays the electric bill? Kansas University or does the athletic corporation?

A:Darren Cook, director of facilities for the KU athletics department said the use of lights on a Tuesday for stadium cleaning was due to rain on Sunday, when the stadium normally is cleaned by ROTC cadets. Because the cadets had to be in class during the day, they cleaned the stadium at night. The use of the lights was required because darkness fell while the cleaning was being done. Depending on the weather, cleaning will be done on Sundays. The athletics department pays for the use of the electricity.
