When the new Lawrence Arts Center opens, will it offer classes free to the public or will it just be for those who can afford to pay?
There will be even more classes than there are now, and they will be open to the public, said Ann Evans, arts center director. There will be fees and they will vary. One-time Saturday classes are $11. More extensive adult classes with multiple sessions vary from $30 to $180.
Scholarships are available for anyone who can't afford the fees, and application consists of nothing more than completing a form, Evans said. Information about classes is always made available and inserted in the Journal-World and distributed at public schools, Evans said.
