Sound Off

If a parent of a Kansas University student owns a house and his or her child and three of his or her child's friends live in the house, would that be in violation of the current four-person rule?

No. City Manager Mike Wildgen said the current law provides that in residential single-family districts, a family is defined as a person living alone, or two or more persons related by blood, marriage or legal adoption, or a group of not more than four unrelated persons living together as a single housekeeping unit.
