How much do long-term parking passes for downtown Lawrence cost? Are they good only at long-term parking lots or are they also good at 10-hour parking meters? Why do city employees get a discount, and why can't other downtown employees get a discount also? I've contacted City Hall and Municipal Court about this and have gotten conflicting answers from the two places.

The long-term passes are sold for $96 per year (a 25 percent discount off the meter cost) and are good in any of the long-term lots. City employees pay $5 for a yearly permit to park in the 10-hour lots. This is part of the city employee benefit package, City Manager Mike Wildgen said.
