Does the new boys basketball coach at Lawrence High School teach? If so, what does he teach?

Julie Boyle, director of communications for Lawrence public schools, said Chris Davis' only contract with the district for the 2000-2001 school year would be as head coach for boys basketball at LHS.

While he won't have a teaching assignment, Davis plans to lend his technology expertise by collaborating with Teresa Grieb, media instructor, and the school's coaching staff.

Davis is an independent technology consultant, developing software for coaches and athletes.

Davis had been the LHS junior varsity coach and a top varsity assistant since 1997. He replaced Mark Vancuren, who resigned to accept the head boys basketball job at Norman (Okla.) High School.
