Q:In last Monday's Journal-World, it was reported that former Kansas University basketball player Nick Bradford had four dunks in the Sunflower State Games championship contest. According to SSG rules, a dunk is considered a technical foul and Bradford should have been ejected after his second dunk. Why wasn't Bradford ejected?
Sunflower State Games officials waived the dunk rule for the championship game, according to Jack Alden, one of the three officials who worked the contest.
"They told us that because it was the championship game and because Allen Fieldhouse has breakaway rims that they would allow it," Alden said. "The (no-dunking) rule was enforced until that game."
