My neighbor operates an in-home child care from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. There is considerable noise, traffic and parking problems related to this in-home business. What are the city regulations for this size home business?

City regulations are based on the number of children the day care is licensed or registered to handle by the health department, said Linda Finger, planning director. Operators of child-care homes can supervise up to 12 children and do not need plan approval by the city. Child-care centers supervise more children and would require review by the city.
