<EM>Q: When is the first day of fall practices and the first game for Kansas University's football team?</EM>

A; Freshmen players report to campus on Aug. 6 and the Jayhawks' varsity players will arrive on Aug. 9. The first day of two-a-day conditioning drills for the full squad is Aug. 11, and the first practice in full pads is slated for Aug. 15. KU opens its 2000 season on Sept. 2 at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. The Jayhawks' home opener is Sept. 16 against Alabama-Birmingham at 6 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
