Flint Hills National Golf Club, located in the Wichita suburb of Andover, opened in 1997. It has zoysia fairways and bluegrass roughs. From the back tees, Flint Hills NGC has a slope rating of 140, meaning it is rated difficult. The course record is 62, a score recorded in 1999 by former Kansas University golfer Slade Adams.
Has Southwest Junior High honor rolls been in the newspaper yet?
Southwest Junior High's honor roll will be published Saturday. The Journal-World publishes honor rolls within about a week after they are received from the schools. The Journal-World received the SWJH honor roll July 5.
Regarding the signal at Kansas Highway 10 and East Hills Drive and the June 1 Sound Off column: The answer says that the funding is supposed to be $1.4 million for the signal. Is there any accounting or listing of what the costs are that could possibly add up to $1.4 million?
The city's application for state money itemizes the expenses, including $296,500 for pavement; $150,000 for traffic signal equipment; $101,000 for excavation; and $237,886 for design and construction engineering. It also includes other costs and a 1.225 multiplier for inflation.
