<I>Why does the water in Baldwin seem so chlorinated lately? Usually the water is good but for the past couple of weeks I've had to buy bottled drinking water because my tap water tastes and smells like a swimming pool.</I>

Bill Winegar, Baldwin assistant director of utilities, said that person might have a problem with the indoor plumbing at his/her home because he hasn't heard any other complaints from residents. He said he recently tested the water in a few locations and it had 1.3 or 1.4 parts per million of chlorine in a liter, which is within the state guidelines. Baldwin receives its water via pipes from Lawrence, Winegar said.
