Why didn't the Douglas County Fair demolition derby have a powder puff division, an all women's event?
Roger Flory, president of the Douglas County Fair Board, said different events are considered and discussed every year for the derby. However, he said time doesn't allow the board to add other classes, such as a powder puff division.
He said the Sheriff's Department has been kind enough to provide security at the derby, which is supposed to end by midnight. Since this year's derby ran overtime until 1:15 a.m., Flory said the board will have to see if anything needs to be reworked.
Also, Flory noted, women could participate in the derby.
