It is illegal to park in front and side yards, said assistant city manager David Corliss.

The Lawrence City Commission has made one exception to that law and allowed people who live adjacent to Memorial Stadium to charge parking fees on game days.

Although there is not a city code in reference to back yards, Corliss said it would be difficult for people to drive into to a back yard without crossing the neighbor's property, which is not permissible.
