<EM>In Chuck Woodling's column on former Kansas University chancellor Gene Budig, it mentioned he is now a consultant to baseball commissioner Bud Selig but usually works only two days a week. Does Budig still collect over $600,000, which was his former salary as a full-time president of the American League?</EM>

Budig is still working under terms of a contract extension proffered in 1998 that runs through Dec. 31, 2002, and is reportedly worth $650,000 a year. When Budig first signed on as American League president on Aug. 1, 1994, he was given a five-year pact.
